The Yomelelani ECD Centre hosted a water conservation project across four days, teaching dozens of children about where water comes from, how it gets to their taps, and crucially how they can help to save water in their everyday lives at home and at the centre.
The aim of the project was to increase awareness of the need to save water in light of the water shortages in Cape Town and across South Africa.
As well as learning valuable tips on saving and recycling water, the children also wrote songs using key words from their lessons to reinforce what they had learnt. As ever, their performances were a real highlight!
The project has been a great success, and the children have learned a lot whilst having fun. You can read more about what the children got up to in the Yomelelani ECD Centre Project – “Saving Water” leaflet here.
